Her reputation as a “Birdie Queen” has been continued by winning 6 times on the USA LPGA tour
but her career faced a major crisis due to her chronic lower back pain.

She couldn’t drive for more than half an hour because of the pain and when she tried to stand up
after a long sitting, barely difficult to straighten up her back.

She suffered from severe lower back pain 2 to 3 times a year. Particularly, after finishing the game even in pain,
the lower back pain occurred so severely as much as almost couldn’t move.

She had consultations with many hospitals in the US and even had oriental medical treatment and injection therapy.
But, the treatment effect was not enough and the pain occurred again.
At that time, one of the University hospitals in the US recommended her to get a lumbar discectomy.

But, she thought if she had spine surgery, might have to retire naturally,
so she exercised even in pain and her symptoms were getting worse.

Eventually, she decided to take a break in August 2010
and she visited Wooridul Spine Hospital to get diagnosed accurately.

After the test result, the reason for her chronic lower back pain was an Internal Disc Disruption
(Intra-discal Granulation Syndrome), not a Lumbar herniated intervertebral disc or spinal stenosis.

She got a Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Annuloplasty (PELA), and then she completed rehabilitation.
Finally, she could come back to the golf player successfully again.

In May 2011, She shared the lead in the first round with a 67-stroke at the Abnet Classic surprisingly,
and the same year, she recorded at the Safeway Classic as 13^th.

After getting married, she announced her retirement, and now she works as a golf commentator at SBS
which healthy and satisfying life.
